The Michigan AuSable Valley Railroad is proud to feature a 1/4 scale passenger train ride through the beautiful scenic landscape of Northern Michigan. Operating on weekends and holidays during the summer months, Michigan AuSable Valley Railroad is located near the AuSable River in jackpine country offering its visitors a relaxing 18 minute rail adventure that travels through a jackpine forest, the Huron National Forest and overlooks the beautiful Comins Creek Valley.
"ALL ABOARD!!" Your ride on the Michigan AuSable Valley Railroad begins at the quaintly designed depot and gift shop where you can purchase tickets and fresh, hot popcorn. While waiting for the train, passengers enjoy browsing through the gift shop where souveniers and many railroad related items are available for sale, including T-shirts, signs, mugs, pins, and much more.
Passengers young and old travel through a 115 foot wooden tunnel making their way towards two breathtaking wooden trestles.
The first trestle stretches over 220 feet long and overlooks the beautiful Comins Creek Valley filled with wildlife such as deer, beaver, red hawks, heron, and even an occasional bear or elk!
Your journey continues through the forest, across the second wooden trestle, around an old log homestead, past antique cars, and back around through the woods where you return safely to the station.
